Founded in 2017, B&W Report is an independent organization that recognizes, supports and nurtures talents emerging from the MENA region.
The client requested a custom ranking platform to spotlight creative people, agencies, brands, and campaigns within the Marketing and Communications industry. Based on a point-based scoring system, the platform was expected to generate and display ranking lists across multiple categories. Access to these rankings would be granted only after a user registration and verification process. The project came with an aggressive timeline, as the client needed to present the platform at a major industry event. This required the team to work under significant time pressure while maintaining high quality and full feature scope.
The overall platform consists of a Node.js backend with a User and Role Management System, and two Angular frontend applications: a custom CMS web app for administrators to manage ranking data and upload media footage, and a customer-facing web application built in accordance with UI/UX designs provided by the client to display ranking data in a visually appealing way. To enable fast and reliable image and video delivery, storage, and real-time transformations, the platform integrates Cloudinary, a leading cloud-based media management solution.
The entire platform was designed, developed, and delivered within just 4 weeks. Despite the tight schedule, the project was completed on time, with 100% of the agreed scope, and fully aligned with the client’s expectations — enabling a successful public launch without delays. In preparation for a major industry event, the client used the custom CMS to enter data on 250+ creative directors, executives, and producers, 250+ projects, and 100+ creative agencies along with their work. Based on the point-based scoring system developed by the client, the platform automatically generated ranking lists across multiple categories — ready to be showcased at the event.
